Antenna Combiner for Periodic Broadcast V2V Communication Under Relaxed Worst-Case Propagation

The performance of a previously developed analog combining network (ACN) phase shifters for periodic broadcast vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication is investigated. original ACN was designed to maximize the sum signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) $K$ consecutive cooperative awareness messages (CAMs). design based on assumption dominant propagation path with an angle arrival (AOA) that constant messages. In this work, we relax by allowing AOA and path-loss (PL) be time-variant. Assuming highway scenario line sight (LOS) between vehicles, use affine approximations model time variation different quantities, including PL, relative distance-dependent shift antennas, AOA-dependent far-field function antennas. By leveraging these approximations, analytically derive sum-SNR as each one quantities varies over CAMs. Moreover, suggest rule slope robust against optimal under time-invariant conditions. Finally, validate using numerical computations example vehicular antenna elements.
